President-elect Barack Obama named Lisa P. Jackson as the Administrator of the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  The Administrator heads up the federal agency that is charged with enforcing the nation’s environmental laws.  Ms. Jackson has served as head of The State of New Jersey’s Department of Environmental Protection since 2006. In October, New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine announced that Ms. Jackson would become his chief of staff starting that month.  Previously, Ms. Jackson spent 16 years at the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency as a top enforcement officer in both Washington, D.C. and New York City.  Additional biographical information relating to Ms. Jackson can be found at:
